Bessie Malila, African Research Initiative for Scientific Excellence (ARISE) Fellow and a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Cape Town, was awarded a Worldwide University Network (WUN) Research Development Fund as the Lead Investigator for the development of a Telemental Health Virtual Clinic System. The project is being undertaken in collaboration with researchers from eight University which are members of the WUN and is an extension of the ARISE project - a Virtual Clinic System for primary health services for rural and remote areas - developed by Bessie and her research team at the University of Cape Town. The project will help advance the use of Digital Health Interventions in addressing the growing challenge of mental health.
